Suspended Scaffolding, commonly referred to as "Swing Stages", is a temporary powered access platform that is usually rigged from the top of a building. The platforms are made up of modular aluminum decks that allow for a variety of configurations in lengths from as small as 1 meter (3.3 ft) up to 18 meters (60 ft). The maximum weight capacity for a swing stage is usually 1000 pounds. This scaffolding is ideal for work that must be done at extreme height such as on the façade of a high rise, the side of a hydroelectric dam or the top of a 300 ft tall industrial chimney.

The platforms are powered by 208/240 volt electric traction hoist motors that climb on 5/8 inch steel wire ropes. Most swing stages are configured with 2 motors but smaller ones can run off a single motor and larger or corner-configured stages can be rigged with 3 or even more. Contractors Access Equipment is proud to work with all the major manufacturers of these hoists: The Bisomac 210 from Nihon Bisoh corporation of Japan; the "PC3" and "PC1" of PowerClimber; the Alpha and Compact of Skyclimber LLC; and the Tirak from Tractel of Germany.
