Direct Scaffold & Ladder Co., LLC was formed in March of 1996 with a specialty focus on the sale and rental of scaffolding products as well as the sale and rental of ladders and accessories. In June of 1996 the doors were opened to the public with product offerings from Bil-jax scaffolding and related products as well as Louisville Ladder brand ladders and accessories. Little Giant ladders by Wing Enterprises were added to the product repertoire soon thereafter. Quality products from leading manufacturers have been at the core of the business from the very beginning.

In January 1998 Direct Scaffold & Ladder licensed its business plan, including its registered name and logo, to a newly formed independent scaffold rental firm in Birmingham, AL. That business was run successfully for several years and was eventually acquired by Safway Scaffold Services in October of 2003.

Direct Scaffold & Ladder became the first customer for scaffolding products of Granite Industries in January of 1999. Although Granite Industries was a new company manufacturing scaffolding, the ownership and employees consisted of many former Bil-Jax owners and employees. Therefore, the quality of the scaffolding products rented and sold by Direct Scaffold & Ladder was not diminished. Direct Scaffold continues today as one of Granite Industries largest customers. Direct Scaffold also continues a relationship with Louisville Ladder and Wing Enterprises that has been mutually beneficial since day one.

A new branch of Direct Scaffold & Ladder was established in June of 1999 in Jackson, MS. After two years of operating branches in Nashville, Jackson, MS, and a licensed operation in Birmingham, the geographical gap was closed when a new location was established to serve the Memphis, TN, market in August of 2001. Then, in May of 2003, a branch was established to serve the Biloxi/Gulfport markets in Mississippi. As the Direct Scaffold & Ladder continued to grow, so did the administrative responsibilities. An administrative office was established in Franklin, TN, in August of 2003 to help keep the operations organized. To better serve our customers and to meet their requests for safe work platforms, Direct Scaffold began employing its own erection and dismantle personnel in June of 2005. As demand for the quality products and valuable service provided by Direct Scaffold & Ladder continued to grow, a branch was established in Pensacola, FL, in October of 2005.

On March 1, 2007, a new chapter in the history of Direct Scaffold & Ladder began with the re-naming of the company to better reflect our operations. Direct Scaffold Services Co., LLC is the new name of our company and with it comes a new logo and a new enthusiasm for the future. The employees of Direct Scaffold Services look forward to serving our customers with quality products and services in the years to come.
